The New Day Priorities
God’s new day starts at evening not midnight. “And the evening & the morning were the 1st day … 2nd day … 3rd day … 4th day … 5th day … 6th day … And on the 7th day God ended His work … & He rested,” Genesis 1: 5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 – 7: 2. The Jews still honor God’s dictate till this day by celebrating the new day at evening (sunset) not midnight (the witching hour). God’s new day starts with rest, fellowship (with Him & others) & food (nourishment) then sleep (total rest in Him). We wake up in the mid day to more fellowship & food then inspired by the rising sun, led by His Spirit to work in our new journey, winding down in the latter day to a new day at evening. We are to be inspired & led of God in our work not driven of the devil. Work is important - we are instructed to be diligent & warned against sloth. Yet work is not ultimate. 1st is restful fellowship with God, family & others - nourishment – sleep – more fellowship & food then work. The final day of the week is a full day of rest, fellowship & food. Consider, work (toil) was a consequence of the fall of mankind from grace with God because of rebellious sin, Genesis 3: 17-19. Hard labor will unlikely be a part of eternal life for those that make it to the New Earth with God, Revelation 21: 1-8.
